Notes

Notes

Search

  • Right now Chad’s team is working on the background infrastructure that will allow for searching of website content.

  • Decisions have note been made yet about how the results are going to display yet

Scheduling a consultation

  • UX testing - several testers went to a “Contact” page

  • we have several different places on the site where someone can get in touch with a librarian or schedule a consultations

  • We would like to do some additional testing or work around contacting

Two most important things: 1) Things in our collection, 2) talking to someone, 3) reserve space

Database Finder/A-Z list is linked under “research services” and on the homepage

Next Steps: More information is in the UX Testing Documentation.

  • We should prioritize search result UI

  • layout of each individual entity page

  • We need to know a basic layout of the HTML that will comprise each page

    • We need more of a page structure

    • We can use the current wireframes to lay out the page structure

  • Rachel and Jackie will meet with Cynthia to plan out the next steps

    • Create milestones and deliverables

At the bottom of each aggregation is a discreet piece of content

  • Entities are the units of content

  • Navigation is the path to the content

  • Aggregation is a list of units of content

  • Customized aggregation is a curated list that can cross multiple types of content

Locations - Is the identity of this thing powerful enough that it needs a unique page?

  • Where is the justification for that level of customization?

  • Some locations, such as SCRC, have more content

  • Other areas have come up that might need a “subset” of pages.

    • How do we handle the differences in service descriptions that we offer where some are very succinct and some are very verbose?

    • How do we create more flexibility for the people creating the site for accommodating their content needs?

TO what degree is it important for HSL, SCRC and Blockson to have a unique identity to put forward that is unique from our global identity as TUL?

  • Content can be in more than one page

Chad: Go through the wireframes and generate a set of questions about orders of things and how things will be coordinated - how will we designate things that will be grouped together. - Schedule meeting with Rachel and Devs to discuss these questions

Jackie, Cynthia and Rachel will meet to discuss the timeline and next steps, milestones and deliverables - six weeks, broken into 2-week chunks

Next Milestone deadline: May 3, 2019
