Website update - 8/17/2018
Review of Services
The list of services is making good progress. Earlier this week, the group met earlier this week and reviewed the service descriptions. The group will continue working on building out the service descriptions. At the beginning of September, I am hoping to provide an opportunity whereby other all library staff can review the service descriptions and provide feedback.
Production website
The first bit of content will be entered into the website next week. A list of library buildings will be entered by Marianne using the building entity, a data profile that will provide a consistent description of all of the buildings within the TUL system. Many thanks go Steven Ng, Chris Doyle and Chad Nelson for their continuous work on the back-end architecture.
Also this week, Gabe and I met with Chad and Steven Ng to create a work plan for the work that will need to be done to build out the website. Similar to the Blacklight project, we will be using Jira to document and manage the workload and development work will be broken up and organized into sprints. We hope to have our first website sprint the week of September 4th.
Design of the Library Website
The core design team met today and reviewed a mock-up from Rachel Cox that is the culmination of almost two months of discussion. We are very happy with the results. Also at the beginning of September, I hope that we can have an HTML prototype available on which to perform user testing with patrons and show to the library staff.
