Blacklight release notes 9/30/2019

  • Updated My Library Account to use user’s preferred name, as defined in TUportal (now also used in Alma accounts)

  • Added interactive feedback when user clicks on buttons, including spinner when loading pop-ups and text when submitting forms (ex. “Sending Email…”)

  • Added the following for improved keyboard navigation and screen reader use: “Skip to Main Content” links, new ARIA landmarks, improved syntax in search results, document_id when needed to make the ids unique

  • Updated header structure on search results pages for improved accessibility

  • Updated resource type images on search results and record pages to be consistent with facet icons

  • Updated Subject and Genre displays to remove duplicate values

  • Updated sort for description drop-down in request forms

  • Updated pick-up location “Charles Library” in booking requests

  • Updated Google Analytics event trackers and categories

  • Fixed bug with the method that determines request options for individual Alma records

  • Fixed bug with request submissions for records with 100+ unique items

  • Fixed bug with “Hide” option for explanatory box at top of search results

  • Fixed date validation for date range filter in Articles Search

  • Removed “Did you mean to type: ?" feature from web search results (not working correctly)

  • Removed “Library Use Only” availability displays for musical scores previously restricted

 

Other quick-fix updates from earlier in September:

  • Added “Find by Citation” tool link to Articles Search landing page

  • Fixed bug with display of facets in mobile devices

  • Fixed bug with indexing and display of finding aids in web search results

  • Removed “Group” entity type from being indexed in web search results (not ready at this time)
