2019-11-06 Meeting notes- Atmire migration planning

Date

Nov 6, 2019

Participants

  • @Gabe Galson@Alicia Pucci @Annie Johnson (Unlicensed)

Agenda

Create a detailed migration timeline

  • We’ll revisit this post Atmire meeting

Outline launch timeline, define roles

  • We want to launch ASAP

  • Q: do we want to do a full marketing push in the spring;

    • It depends on their timeline, and how fast we can migrate

Migration logistics

  • @Gabe Galson will ask Atmire ASAP for details, migration templates, etc. before our upcoming meeting.

  • @Annie Johnson (Unlicensed) @Alicia Pucci and @Gabe Galson will review alicia’s upgrade consideration doc, turning it into a list of customization requests for Atmire

    • We’ll revisit this after the meeting

  • Systems connections

    • ProQuest- we’ll get Atmire to do this, however, we’ll need to time its activation carefully

      •

    • Elements-On ITS' current timeline we probably won’t be able to get Atmire to help with this.

      • Any way to speed this along

    • CDM ETD migration- we should revisit whether we or they should handle this, as well as whether it’s feasible for them to migrate our data.

      • Decision: we’ll do this ourselves

    • DOI plugin turn on + connection to datacite

    • Front end work

    • @Gabe Galson will remeet with Chin ASAP, make sure he’s ready to go

      •

Meeting planning

Points to hit in upcoming meeting…

  • MAP implementation

  • ProQuest connection

  • Datacite integration

  • Decision: advanced statistics… let’s skip for now

    • We’d definitely want this. @Gabe Galson will investigate whether this can be done now.

  • Metadata… We’ll skip this

Questions:

  • How quickly can they do it? How can we help it go faster

  • Who will be our atmire contacts, both during and after implementation and migration

  • DSpace7 plans… how will OpenRepository evolve?

  • Ask about Orcid plans in new repo.
