Outcome/Follow-up

Current Awareness Service-Beckie was only able to find information that applies to the Law Library, the spreadsheet notes that this service applies to LRS and HSL but there doesn’t appear to be any info on the current website for either department.

This would be a service to follow up with LRS on. I (Cynthia) was prompted to add this to our list of services at one of the service description meetings over the summer.

Can’t find any info on Ambler’s ipad lending: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10IHJ_-0iqQANua46WdBz_JEmvMfrcHgCHDJebwSHpPU/edit

Is there enough info to add to the main “Borrowing media Equipment” page?

*update-Sandi let us know that there is a Confluence page (seems to be for staff training purposes but has some info that could be pulled and used for service description:

https://tulibdev.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ACL/pages/671547398/Lending+Procedures

It is OK to mention the Ambler lends iPads and direct patrons to visit the Ambler Service Desk for additional information.

HSL currently lumps their ipad and laptop lending together as one service. if they aren’t going to have the same laptop lending system as Charles, could this have its own page where we continue to lump them together?

Yes, please create a separate service for “HSL Laptop Lending”

Request electronic document delivery-this service seems to be directly tied to ILL, even if you are requesting a scan from something we own.

It’s not tied to ILL except for the fact that ILLiad is used as the system to manage/process these requests.

Some background: Document delivery is the process by which faculty or students with a documented disability can request a scan be made of a physical item within the collection and emailed to them.

This is different from Journal Article ILL in that these are physical items that we own.

Borrowing information would get exceedingly long if we included HSL borrowing rules and fees on the same page as main campus. What is the advantage to the user to including all of this content in one place? (Jackie)

Use your discretion based on the length and amount of description.

Systematic review--in progress, overwhelmed by content and how to organize

Put a summary information in the service description and link to the LibGuide

Researcher profiles and scholarly credentialing--roughly drafted but feel like I’m missing lots of info--what to do about linked copy?

These should be separated into two services; 1) researcher profiles, 2) scholarly credentialing

Recommend talking to Annie about the researcher profiles

Thesis/dissertation submission--keep FAQ format?

Confer with Holly about how she would like to proceed with content

Beckie emailed Holly 2/6

Assistive technology--do we need to wait until we have Charles info? Should I see what’s available at HSL and Ambler in the meantime?

Beckie started to resolve comments 2/5

Data management services--what questions do I need to ask RDS group?

TBD

Outstanding Questions

Questions: if we have some services where there is a short description on the website that links to a LibGuide, how will this look on the search result that might show both items?

Question: Do we even want to increase the visibility of this service?

Question: what is the baseline for a service deserving it’s own service page

Question: how do we organize services for distance learners.

Action items

  • Add “Current Awareness Service” to the list of items to discuss with LRS
  • Discuss “researcher profiles” service with Annie
  • Discuss “thesis/dissertation” service with Holly

Decisions

  • Re Ambler iPads, make mention in the general equipment lending service and direct patrons to the Ambler Service desk for additional info
  • Create a separate service for “HSL Laptop Landing”
  • For Systematic Review service - put a brief intro/description into the service and then link to the LibGuide with additional details
  • Separate into two services: 1) researcher profiles, 2) scholarly credentialing
  • No labels
