Meeting notes

  • Maria Aghazarian from Swarthmore may be a potential intern in the fall for schol comm activities (she is working on an MLIS from the University of Wisconsin). Mary Rose and Annie will interview her soon and find out more about what she is interested in working on and if she would be a good fit.
  • Kristina attended workshop on grants.
    • Mainly focused on budget part of a grant.
    • "Grants are not to you but to Temple."
    • Also talked about Temple crowdfunding page.
    • About 12 people attended, mostly faculty.
    • Office of Institutional Advancement does similar events throughout the year
  • The majority of the meeting was spent editing the Scholarly Communication Skill Area document.
  • Annie noted that the goal is to have a complete list of all the scholarly communication-related workshops we are going to offer in 2018-2019 by July 17th (RDSST will be doing the same). At that point, we will share dates/times with Sara and ask liaisons if they would like to lead any of them.
  • By next meeting, group will brainstorm workshop ideas and add them to outreach/events document.
  • Annie will start a draft of an email to the unit heads and group will edit.
