Charles Library Room 210 Basic Instructions

Step 1. Log onto the instructor laptop

a. The instructor laptop is stored in 210A (the closet inside 210). If you do not have a key to the 210A (the “instruction room” key that is issued to the reference librarians, then please get the key from Sheryl’s desk in 350.

b. Turn the laptop on by pressing the small rectangular button on the front right side of the laptop.

c. Press any key to bring up the login page.

d. Login with your Temple Accessnet username and password (used for TUmail, TUportal, etc). This will also log you into wireless. Please do not attempt to connect to the wireless before logging into the computer. It will not work.

Step 2. Turn on the Audio/Video system for the classroom

a. Using the wall panel inside the door, touch the screen to activate. If prompted for a code, enter 7700. Please note that there is a 1-2 second delay from when you touch a button on the screen to when an action happens. Please only tap each button once and then wait 1-2 seconds (one one thousand, two one thousand…)

b. On the left side of the screen, make sure the “Monitors on” button is highlighted in white. If it is not highlighted, tap the button once.

c. Across the top of the panel, make sure that “Monitor 1” is highlighted in white. If it is not highlighted, tap the button once. You should see the Kramer VIA screen appear on all the monitors.

*If the screens don’t all come on, select Environment Controls → Display Controls and make sure that all five screens are highlighted in white. If they are not highlighted, touch each one to turn on.

Step 3. Connect to VIA on the laptop

a. Back on the laptop, open the VIA app on the desktop.

b. Enter the “Room Name” from Screen 1.

c. Enter the code when prompted.

d. Click “Display” in VIA. You should now see the laptop screen on every monitor in the room.
