The Alternate Graphic Representation feature in the Edit menu of the MD Editor facilitates working with 880 fields.

In Alma, the 880 field displays as a linked field above or below its respective field with the MARC tag:

By default, the 880 tag is not shown. To display them select Show Linkage Information in the Edit menu of the Metadata Editor.

To add a new 880 field

Select the field that will be given an 880 field.
Select the Add Alternate Graphic Representation or Alt+F1 option in the Edit menu and select a script from the list of options that appear.
Enter the your 880 linked field content.

To link existing 880 fields

Select the rows of the two fields that you want to link. Make the first field the focus row. For the second field (the one to which you want to link), hold the Ctrl key and click the left mouse button in the row.
Select the Link Fields option (Edit > Alternate Graphic Representation > Link Fields) or Alt+F2 and select a script from the list of options that appear.

To unlink 880 fields

Open the record in the MD Editor with the linked fields that you want to unlink.
Press Ctrl+click to highlight the two linked records that you want to unlink.
Select the Unlink Fields option (Edit > Alternate Graphic Representation > Unlink Fields) or Alt+F3

To flip linked 880 fields in the MD Editor

Select the two linked fields to be flipped.
In the Edit menu, select Flip Fields (Edit > Alternate Graphic Representation > Flip Fields) or Alt+F5

To change the script for linked 880 fields

For the field whose script you want to change, make it the focal point.
Select the Change Script option (Edit > Alternate Graphic Representation > Change Script) or Alt+F6
Select a different script from the list of options that appear.
