Copyright basics workshop (3/20)

  • Went well, 13 people attended (10 grad students)
  • Annie will plan to repeat next year

Open textbook workshop (3/21)

  • Cancelled due to snow, rescheduled for 4/4

All-staff meeting (3/28)

  • Annie will give a brief update re: SCSST at all-staff meeting
  • Rachel suggested we show the diagram that Emily created

Barnes Club conference (3/23)

  • Rebecca presented on a panel about digital stuff for history graduate students, where she talked about OA and ETDs
  • She found that students were finding/using content that was illegally uploaded, and some students had periods of not having access to materials

New find: Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations

  • Kristina noted that the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations is offering grants workshops to faculty and students
  • We will add them to inventory
  • Kristina will attend workshop on May 2nd, 2018 and will report back

Schol comm questionnaire for librarians/staff (from January)

  • Staff reported not being confident in terms of: systematic reviews, author rights, funder mandates, and digital publishing

  • How should we use this?
    • Use it to think about workshops for staff that are targeted to different skill levels: advanced, intermediate, beginner
  • Should we share this survey with unit heads?
    • Yes

  • We will present finished document to unit heads and get their thoughts on next steps
