Meeting with Matt Shoemaker: How can we collaborate in 2019-2020?

  • Idea: Keystone DH (July 2020)

    • Yes, the DSC would be happy for us to help

    • Digital scholarly publication?

    • Cross-pollination between OpenCon and Keystone DH?

      • Send proposals from OpenCon to Keystone DH?

      • Kristina might be willing to be on Keystone DH organizing committee…will talk to Matt

  • Idea: Prioritizing open source software

    • Put together a resource the explains the importance of open source?

    • Highlight during Open Access Week?

  • Info on new Scholar’s Studio:

    • HASTAC is no more, Cultural Analytics Certificate will be substitute

    • 3 students in 2019-2020: Two graduate fellows, 1 graduate research assistant

      • Not sure about hourly graduate/undergrad students (15 undergrads)

    • 2 faculty fellows

    • Still workshops…but no dedicated space for workshops

  • Idea: New modes of publishing and promotion/tenure

    • Could we do a project where we gather promotion/tenure guidelines from different departments?

  • Main takeaway: because of the move to the new building, a lot is still up in the air.
