Alma processing

  • Navigate to the item you wish to withdraw.
  • Go to the Notes tab and select the appropriate withdrawal note in "Statistics note 3" (see code list at right) and then save.
  • Back on the List of Items page, check the box next to the item(s) you want to withdraw. If there is only one holdings record attached to the bib record a Withdraw items link will appear above. You may select multiple item records then click the Withdraw items link.

  • If there is more than one holdings record attached, the Withdraw items link will not appear. You will have to individually select an item record, then from the “…” button at the right choose Withdraw. You will have to repeat this step if withdrawing more than one item.

  • With either method a confirmation window will open. Select Confirm.
  • If the withdrawn item was the last or only one on that holdings record an additional window will open. It will say “The last item of this holdings record was deleted or moved. What do you want to do with the holdings record?“ From the options below, select “Delete bibliographic record (unless other holdings are present)” then the Go button.

  • The item and holdings record will now be deleted. If it was the last or only holdings record attached to the bibliographic record, the bib record will also be deleted. (The record will remain on the screen until you exit out).
  • Finish with the usual physical processing for withdrawals.
