Agenda
- Review our updated Confluence page (https://tulibdev.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SCSST/overview): How does it look? Any changes needed? (Thanks Emily!!)
- Review the Data Services Strategic Steering Team charge (everyone should have access to this): Do we need to adjust any of our charge based on this?
- Review our (basic) plan for Fair Use Week and look at last year's Fair Use week materials (find them in the Google drive under the "Education and Outreach" folder): Should we host the ACRL webinar for staff? Do any of the materials need to be updated?
Meeting Notes
Review our updated Confluence page
- The Confluence page was reviewed. There was consensus that the information presented on the page is chunked and organized well. Many thanks to ET for updating the page and enhancing the graphic.
Review the Research Data Services Strategic Steering Team charge
- Everyone had an opportunity to review the RDS STSST's charge. Some similarities were noted between the charges, namely in regards to education. There were some comments regarding whether the RDS ST SST has additional documents and/or more specific goals. There was consensus that it would be beneficial to meet with the RDS ST SST members to hear and learn more. There was consensus that there does not seem to be anything in our charge we need to change or drastically alter based upon what we reviewed.
Review our (basic) plan for Fair Use Week
- There was consensus that hosting the 2/28 webinar is a good, low-hanging fruit option for library staff. KD has reserved the DSC for the webinar.
- RAL asked about the option of tabling on Tuesday/Thursday in order to take advantage of the course matrix. After reviewing last year's tabling schedule, we realized that we only tabled on the Monday of Fair Use Week, so we're actually engaging more this year.
- Everyone had an opportunity to review the promotional/tabling materials and thought they would continue to serve well for this year.
- ET asked: Now that we have identified point people for our goals, how do we make sure these goals happen?
- RAL commented on the multitude of open access content and whether we are or should be highlighting such content in our discovery tools. Discussion around sustainability, role(s) of DPLA and HathiTrust, as well as user expectations regarding where open content is found.
- ET asked for more details about Textbook Affordability Project.
- RAL inquired about feasibility of working with bookstore to learn more about course readers/course packs still used on campus. Would an inventory be possible?
